Speaker bios:

Chairperson: Steve Bambury, EdTech Consultant

Steve Bambury worked in education for 20 years, ultimately taking on the role of Head of Digital Learning and Innovation across the JESS Dubai school group. He moved on to work as an independent consultant. Steve has won awards from Apple, Microsoft, GESS, BETT and EdTech Digest for his working integrating technology successfully in learning and development. In 2017, Steve hosted the world’s first professional development sessions inside virtual reality and in 2018 he co-hosted the world’s first global lesson inside VR alongside Pixar co-founder Loren Carpenter. Steve has been on the judging panel for the World VR Awards since 2019 and his work with VR has been featured on Forbes Middle East, Arabian Business, Dubai One and more.

Dr. Jeremy Williams, VP of Community at Monax

Dr. Jeremy Williams is an internationally recognized K-12 educator and subject matter expert on Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs). As an educator, Dr. Jeremy has been a teacher, vice principal, principal, and superintendent in North America as well as the Middle East. Known widely as an intra-preneur focused on creating relevant and compelling learning opportunities for students and staff, Dr. Jeremy has created and implemented K-12 financial literacy, entrepreneurial fellowships, and career guidance programming helping students find their purpose before attending university. Also, Dr. Jeremy launched the first school sanctioned Esports team in the United Arab Emirates.

Carl Morris, Principal of Carfax College and Co-Founder of The Online School

As Head of Carfax Private Tutors globally for Carfax Education, Carl oversees student academic programmes, client relationships and training. Having worked in education for the majority of his professional life, Carl has a wealth of academic experience and is an enthusiastic Science and Maths tutor, with a broad range of professional and personal experience. He has supported pupils across all the major curricula, and has worked with organisations that provide tuition to underprivileged children, helping them with university applications. Carl graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master’s degree in Chemistry; and went on to become an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant. Recently, Carl has co-founded an innovative ed-tech platform designed in conjunction with the expert team at Carfax Education and senior examiners. The platform also includes a “Learn 2 Earn” programme powered by blockchain technology which rewards students for engaging with their education.

Maria Galanis, K-8 Innovation Curriculum Specialist at Deerfield Public School District 109

Maria is a public school edtech educator living in Chicago and working in the northern suburbs at Deerfield Public School District 109. My journey in EdTech began in 2001 as the Tech Coordinator at one of the middle schools in the district and my role has continued to evolve throughout the years. I am currently the DPS109 K-8 Innovation Curriculum Specialist helping introduce, integrate, and support innovative learning practices. I received an M.Ed in Curriculum & Technology because I love what tech can bring to learning, connecting people, and the world. I believe in meaningful integration of innovative technologies, the power of community, fostering individual identities, being an equity ally, and I continuously lead work and life with an open mind and heart.

Michael Cohen, Co Founder of Ed3DAO and Ed3Educators NFT

Michael Cohen, The Tech Rabbi, is a designer, educator and creativity instigator. His mission is to help educators around the world reveal their own creative abilities so they can empower students to solve interesting problems and become positive contributors to our global society. He is the author of the book Educated By Design, which outlines his principles for revealing and nurturing our innate creative courage and capacity. He is a national keynote speaker, advisor, and trainer. He is the co founder of Ed3DAO and Ed3Educators NFT.
