The Power of Education: Warwick Schools Foundation
Warwick Schools Foundation is one of the oldest, largest and most innovative educational charities and schools groups in the UK. With a history reaching back to 914, our family of five schools balances 1,550 years of collective heritage with world-class, future-facing innovation. Our educational vision is to enable transformation through the power of education. We aim to nurture well-rounded, compassionate and resilient young people who are fully equipped to make a positive difference in the world. The core strengths driving our reputation and resilience are innovation, adaptability, community
Innovation in Curriculum Design
Our schools stand at the absolute forefront of contemporary pedagogy. Rather than relying solely on traditional examination curricula, we have modernised our pupils' academic journey by introducing future-ready courses as part of the Key Stage 3 curriculum (ages 11 to 14) and alongside standard GCSE pathways.
Accredited by Eduqual, our three GCSE-equivalent courses are:
-
The Global Changemaker Programme, which includes modules in Social Justice, Global Citizenship and Climate Change.
-
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme, exploring Sustainable Engineering, Data Analysis, Neuroscience and Entrepreneurship.
-
The Science for Change Programme, covering Experimental Science, Conservation, Sustainable Synthesis and Medical Physics.
The Design Thinking Award is a unique programme developed alongside industry experts and accredited by the University of Warwick. It cultivates human-centric problem-solving, continuous project assessment and creative collaboration. Together, these programmes ensure our pupils develop the vital, uniquely human competencies demanded by tomorrow's world.
Through the FutureFWD conference series (www.futurefwd.org), we have put our commitment to educational development on a national footing. With the University of Warwick as our lead sponsor, we bring together thought leaders from around the country to focus on the skills and attributes the next generation of pupils needs to thrive.
Deep Community Connection
A fundamental part of our day-to-day life is fostering a genuine sense of belonging, social responsibility and civic duty amongst our pupils. Partnerships with local schools and organisations form the bedrock of our programmes outside the classroom, including training our pupils as mentors for younger children.
The launch of the Warwick Schools Foundation Multi-Academy Trust (WSF MAT) is the primary focus of our public benefit. By sharing and creating educational opportunities with local state schools, including primary schools and a specialist SEND school, we are proud to bridge the independent and state sectors.
A Diverse Family of Schools
At a time of stress in the UK market, the Foundation has drawn on the diversity of its portfolio. Our schools cover ages 0 to 18, single-sex and co-education, and day and boarding, serving both local families and our international boarders. This academic year we opened the first of our new day nurseries.
Our ethos also shapes the spaces our pupils learn in. Through our 'Project One Campus' masterplan, we designed, built and relocated King's High School to a new, state-of-the-art facility alongside Warwick Preparatory School, Warwick Junior School and Warwick School on our 55-acre Warwick town site. Shared hubs, including our Music School, STEM facilities and Warwick Hall, encourage collaboration and resource sharing while protecting the heritage, character and identity of each school.
World-Class Destinations
The ultimate outcome of our forward-thinking curriculum, our engagement beyond the classroom and our master-planned facilities is consistently exceptional achievement for our pupils.
In 2026, 66% of our leavers secured places at the top 20 UK universities as ranked by the Complete University Guide. That comfortably outperforms the UK independent sector average of 38% and is more than five times the national benchmark of 12%.
Supported by dedicated teachers, our pupils move on to their university destinations with both stellar exam results and world-ready skills, ready to step forward as the leaders of tomorrow.
I am proud to be introducing our Foundation at this conference of international educationalists as we seek to share our experience and expertise on the global stage.
