Beyond Knowledge: Educating the Next Generation of Human and AI Leaders
We are entering an era where access to knowledge and intelligence is becoming almost limitless. Tomorrow's students will not simply work alongside AI; they will increasingly be expected to lead teams of both people and intelligent agents. This raises a fundamental question for educators: If knowledge is no longer the differentiator, what capabilities must we develop in the next generation?
This keynote explores how education must evolve beyond knowledge acquisition to cultivate critical thinking, creative agility, communication, sound judgment and responsible AI literacy - the essential foundations of future leadership.
Drawing on Benjamin Bloom's influential research on personalised learning, the session examines how advances in learning science and AI create new opportunities to deliver more individualised, meaningful learning experiences.
Central to this transformation are teachers. As AI evolves from a classroom tool into an intelligent teaching assistant, educators have an opportunity to become orchestrators of increasingly personalised learning. Realising this potential, however, requires investment in professional development, equitable technology access, responsible AI deployment and, critically, building teacher confidence and trust.
Drawing on international experience implementing technology-enabled education programmes at scale, including Efekta's work with education systems globally, the keynote will explore the practical journey from innovation to measurable learning impact.
The central message: The future of education is not about replacing human intelligence with artificial intelligence. It is about empowering teachers and developing young people who can think independently, lead confidently and harness AI responsibly to shape the world around them.
